The E-Learning 24/7 latest survey is all about e-learning and more importantly learning management systems. Respondents were asked questions tied to mobile, video and yep, even MOOCs. In 2014, I believe that video will be hot in the LMS space (amongst others), but it will be on fire watch.

For the past month, I have been conducting a survey on learning platforms and specifically learning management systems. . The data shows that what many vendors assume end users want is far from accurate. Too many vendors are focusing on talent/performance management as the next feature/component in their systems.

In some cases it will be noted if it is based on a higher set of users, since there are platforms that prefer a minimum or focus on larger size businesses including associations, etc. You can find a lot of LMS companies who provide different information on the size of business. Big wins for me include: On/Off synch for mobile devices.

Even with slideshare, you can actually post e-books and other documents, so it follows suit in a system. Read, share, print or send to mobile devices: ebooks, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations/slides, documents, images, audio/video – user generated. Opens up learning, and makes your solution a one stop service.

I love Questionmark, its a wonderful product and it can use a “connector” to integrate into your learning platform or system. Yes, it has a mobile component too. Greater increase in the number of learning management systems offering quiz/assessment tools. Bottom Line. What about cheating?

At one time BlueVolt was just a spark, a system among many other systems in the market. Multi-Tenet capabilities – it is after all ideal for an extended enterprise system. Bottom Line.

They see an opportunity in the SMB space where customers may not want to purchase an ERP for HR or a full blown HRIS and then purchase or have a LMS. The downside is that some of the vendors will reduce down their L/D components and focus more on the TM side of things. Why more features on the side of HR? Doesn’t matter.
