Surprises in E-Learning One of the biggest surprises, is that so many folks are unaware that e-learning was an umbrella term, as I noted in the History of the LMS post. On top of that, they misspell it – the term is e-learning. It has always been e-learning. Ditto on the LMS. They mention only LMS.

On the expo side, and I know ASTD Events are going to disagree with me (err, they already have via Linkedin), I wasn’t overly impressed on the number of vendors’ booths. the people who will buy the system or authoring tool or whatever) is ZERO. . I think it can work with customer education/partner training if you launch it right, and associations too. The closes to a full cohort-based learning platform in the industry. Super close in fact (based on my specs in the cohort-based learning post). Overall, functionality scored high in my template. Those days are gone.

Certification Programs are usually found in the association space, more so than say Corporate and definitely more so than Academia. The revenue opportunities a training department or education department (in an association) can be quite high. If you are in a trade association, how will it benefit the business owners/employees?
