Despite overall consumer demand (not just within e-learning) for tablets, and numbers showing that tablets are outselling notebooks, e-learning vendors as whole are sitting back and waiting. Audio editing – still no match to Audacity, a free program. Increase in number of vendors.

Read, share, print or send to mobile devices: ebooks, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations/slides, documents, images, audio/video – user generated. Expand it, so that e-books, documents, audio files can be viewed on e-book readers, if it is ePub (the most used format, and recognized with every e-reader, sans Kindle) it will work.

RSS feed – not all offer this, but enough do. I have seen enough vendors that actually offer this fine package to their end users and think they have hit the social learning ball out of the park: Blog. Complete app sharing between learners – video, audio (.mp3,mpeg),pdf, E-Learning 24/7.

A few vendors say “social learning” but it is often far from it. Social tags, RSS, gaming activities. My personal favorite feature is the timeline with individual tracks for audio, images and text. Easy to use interface and supports SCORM and AICC. #18 18 Mzinga Publisher - Holy macaroni! Not with Publisher.

We are sick of the RSS feed and then super lame YouTube links. I’m sorry but watching a video link, is not engaging social learning in my book. Yes, YouTube is a form of social media, but so is Pandora, and I’m unaware of any LMS vendor enabling Pandora in their system. E-Learning 24/7. One way really.
