Amaya – Lots of features, simple user interface, offers split screen, CSS, Mac and Windows capability, panels, easy to use. A novice could learn it and do some things quicker than Dreamweaver. Kompozer – Very easy authoring tool, WYSIWYG approach; tabbed editing, template support, plug-in capabilities, oh did I mention it was simple?

Built in authoring tool – never hurts. The teachers I know, do not have several hundred or even a thousand dollars around to purchase a 3rd party authoring tool. After all, there are more important things to buy than a 3rd party authoring tool (from the teachers’ perspective). Assessment tool.
