Of all commercial LMSs, I probably have the most hands-on experience with GeoLearning ’s various products and services having managed an enterprise implementation several years ago. It was a multi-phase implementation (LMS, LCMS, Talent Management) that went off pretty smooth and the team at GeoLearning was great to work with.

Especially when it comes in the form of questions from readers of the blog and various followers on my social media channels. On the Maestro side (formally GeoLearning), I don’t understand how they could have dropped the ball on the platform. I say – “big deal” Because your job is to attract new clients.

ILT Follies There are plenty of websites, and even this blog, which covers the disadvantages of using ILT (regardless in the classroom for Edtech, or in the corporate world, seminars or sessions in conference rooms – a popular place BTW). Why have a system to house courses, when ILT was the main way of learning and training? And people.

I see this more with LMSs and Learning Platforms, than an LXP (again, aside from Degreed, and EdCast – and the latter does a so-so job on it). They had it early on, and it continues to improve – i.e. the entire system that is, not just the LXP, which is there, does a good job, but the system is designed to go way beyond that.

And in 2002, many more – I used Geolearning – it offered lots of informal options. Some show the playlists as similar to “a job role” or skills, note a recommended playlist, trending, most popular – and thus in those vendors they are nearly an LXP – the metrics is what stops that. E-Learning 24/7.
