LMSs that kick ass: GeoLearning

Janet Clarey

Of all commercial LMSs, I probably have the most hands-on experience with GeoLearning ’s various products and services having managed an enterprise implementation several years ago. It was a multi-phase implementation (LMS, LCMS, Talent Management) that went off pretty smooth and the team at GeoLearning was great to work with.

History of the LMS

You might have chat rooms (my system, the one I initially built, and then the one I purchased – GeoLearning), forums, discussion boards, a library (mine did, including checkout capabilities), even classrooms (the appearance of them, I never used it). Still in existence Saba – Today? SumTotal called it SumTotal Maestro. I argue no.

And the adventure continues…

eLearning Development

The Broken Dream – LXP

One of my favorite early vendors was GeoLearning. Even if it offers way more benefit to your learners, and even with your job. If you wanted assigned learning, yes, they offered that, but nobody was forced to select only that option. If you wanted self-paced learning, congrats they offered it as well. Well, lack of awareness for one.
