I admit that in general I have been underwhelmed in the past with Saba. So, when I went and checked out Saba Social, Saba’s new social learning platform, I had very low expectations. Over 25 different social media types and Saba Social sticks with the ones everyone always sees – WHY? I was surprised.

Virtual classrooms and smart-boards are used in a more student-centered way (not putting all the attention to one person up-front=bad). Twitter, Yammer), wikis, blogs, discussion groups, etc. open up exciting opportunities for people to access relevant information where and when they require it.

This isn’t the case with a LMS product geared to small business or associations, for example, who land a large client or two, and then say to themselves – ah, we can compete, so lets focus on that.
