Now that we have thought about what we can do with our existing courseware let’s think about building some new eLearning and what’s all the fuss about HTML5. HTML5 works best with IE10 and browsers like Maxthon, Chrome, Firefox and Safari. Web-apps, however, are built in standards-based technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 etc.

If you produce a lot of courseware that people access either on your LAN or remotely from home, then you can use Gears to download interface elements so they don’t have to load for every course every time. As a web surfer, you have to install the Gears plug-in.

I’m sure they tested with IE, Firefox, Safari and Chrome, but what about Opera? Firefox 4.0? As part of my presentation, I will be showing a course built in 100% HTML5, courtesty of ej4, a custom courseware shop out of Kansas City. You have no idea on what browsers they tested their solution to make that claim.
