Vendors were saying, lets “wait on those&# or “our customers are not requesting them, so we are holding off&#. Social learning? Again, our customers aren’t asking for it, so we are just doing enough to appear that we are cutting edge. Not just a few vendors, the industry as a whole.

Revenues across the board are up, profit margins are healthy and competition is on-going (always a good thing). Illogical – I often see systems that add features that seem as though they tossed a bunch of ideas on a wall and whatever stuck up there, went into their platform. Customer support. Customer Service.

I like this system and its functionality in comparison to the other players in this space. That said, across the board for all Big Dog systems, their social learning functionality was weak. When a vendor I am reviewing or identifying is a client of mine, it will always be noted, as such. Big Dog LMS. So, who are they?

While, I can understand vendors who would rather not offer a “talent management or performance management&# option, the decision to ignore social learning, is strange. It is not as though, social learning is going to disappear. Time for these vendors to wake up, or see your audience share disappear.
