A vendor who made not only poor business decisions with the likes of Percipio, but also with the monumental blunder of acquiring SumTotal. .

CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. In 2000, I built my own LMS for a company, and was hired to create an e-learning program for customer training, as well as run a training division with ILT still in play (blended).

Tried and true development methods like classroom instruction will never die, but for every class, there’s an e-learning or virtual course waiting in the wings. Of course, Tena Lyons, vice president for product marketing at SumTotal, works for a learning technology company, so she’d obviously have some pros to offer.

I will zig back and forth, not staying with the typical linear method so many folks find endearing. From a vendor perspective there was a huge impact, but what was odd, is that some vendors still are living in the past, as though, this is a minor blip, and in 2021, everything will go back as it was – corporate wise that is.

Often, these posts have 287 or more responses from LMS vendors, each claiming they offer the best solution, given the overwhelming evidence provided in the original 2-sentence help request. They’ve hit a wall with features that don’t accomplish what a vendor promised. LMS vendors have vastly different licensing models.

Lots of vendor booths. One vendor told me it was 296, another said, 260. I did see one vendor who bought a booth and never showed up (G-Cube). Vendors who were in certain sections (I counted Seven sections), seemed to have more humans than say others. Regardless, there were a lot. So, you get the idea.
