Less vendors are offering the HTML5 output, which seems to be strange, especially as more e-learning vendors as a whole are jumping right in. Take Techsmith’s latest version of Camtasia. But the problem lies in the details or more specifically the features. That’s fine. Share online recordings.

If you provide greater control to your end users, and after all, it is a social learning collaborative platform, this overload can happen faster then you think. Compatibility with older versions of Microsoft Office, if doesn’t really exist, so unless you have say 2007, you may face some challenges.

Twitter has APIs, so does Facebook, even Linkedin. However there are vendors who sell their API solution wrapped in a piece of software. SCORM Player communicating with your vendor’s solution, for example, if you were creating your own LMS and Rapid Intake’s rapid e-learning authoring tool, it includes a SCORM Player API.

Name me another system that includes the New York Times archieve with over 160 years of articles, continuum based assessments in the areas of writing, creativity, problem solving, global competency and analyzing. They do offer a higher education version, but this is all about K-12. Facebook and Twitter integration. Frog Trade.

Equally horrible, is that some companies are still using old versions of IE or an outdated computer system with Windows 2000 on it. There are enough vendors who are not going into the widget space, but are enabling the integration possibilities of APIs, which are really offers a powerhouse potential (a future emerging technology topic).

Problems with recording audio. Video goes in and out with the audio – They explain it has to do with the latest version of Flash, but how about coming up with an alternative. Problems abound within the product – not bugs mind you, just poor processes (IMO). See an example below.
