I’m always cognizant of what Ellen Wagner (formerly with Adobe) said while writing about web conferencing technologies around the time Blackboard bought Wimba and Elluminate and combined them to create Blackboard Collaborate (for edu-types, I’ll insert the ‘muwhahahaha’ just for you). We should all be happy about that.

No access to Elluminate. Chat messaging on Elluminate was working OK, but not the best medium for presenting a live talk. I lost Elluminate completely (again). Typical PLEs will incorporate a social networking service, reflective and collaborative tools, e-mail and a mobile device. Proxy error or firewall problem.

In this case, I think the idea of mobile learning, and especially mobile performance, was a new thing to most people in the webinar. And vice versa. It had upwards of 2,000 people register.
