The general sentiment around the room was that many workplace learning organizations were focused on nuts-and-bolts training, and that there was little innovation. Google Buzz , Google Wave and PKM PKM stands for Personal Knowledge Management, which is a definite passion of mine (see Work Literacy and Social Media for Knowledge Workers ).

I expected it to be about how to use twitter as a knowledge worker. that explain a lot of what’s going on around SharePoint and learning organizations. Google Wave as a Mashup? I must look into Google Wave as the basis for social interaction that goes along with a course.

Organizations invest in learning initiatives because they have a business need; sell more product, keep employees safe to reduce liability, increase market share. So by shear volume, informal learning is the most powerful tool for learning in organizations. Alternatively, the product Google Wave is impressive.
