Sure you can watch a video on Salesforce CRM or Lotus 1-2-3, but people learn best when the content is interactive and mimics the product. But the other players? Social media was quite small in terms of a footprint. But where is the content related the skills folks need based on the digital economy? Now, they do.

Popular ones included Lotus Notes, Blackboard and WebCT. However, the biggest player in Africa is the African Virtual University (AVU), which has graduated more than 40,000 students. It still has a way to go, but it is happening – and happening faster than its corporate counterpart. As for the systems people used, well it varied.
