Here is a sampling of those vendors on the (“Alternative to Moodle). Now, eFront was once open source (owned by the same company as Talent LMS, and their first product), but is fee-based too. Some commercial vendors still support on-site, many are just going cloud. It is also fee-based. Never was open source.

As for the SPOCS (the newest entry to the whole OER (Open educational resources) world) – I saw no mention of it. But I did hear mention of OER via attendees and a couple of vendors. Products that Intrigued.

If you are an e-learning vendor in the higher education space and doing or planning on doing business in Europe, this is the place to be. There was a very good amount of vendors at the show. Authoring Tool vendors – okay TechSmith and a couple of ones that were not really asynchronous based authoring tools. . Absolutely.

SharePoint 2010 looks to be a much better product (think Windows 3.1 – third major version by Microsoft) Social learning (or specific implementations) are going to grow in importance Seems to make it pretty clear to me.
