You can make the background of an image transparent with an advanced photo editor like Photoshop , with TechSmith’s Snagit , or with a variety of other tools. With Snagit, it only takes a few steps to quickly remove the background from your image. Start by taking a screenshot with Snagit, or upload an image from the File menu.

Any graphics program will work, but I use Illustrator for two specific reasons – it’s a breeze to make flat, crisp shapes and it’s super easy to manage a complicated group and layer structure. Once I have some of that set, I add the mouse PNG to a track above the images. To create the graphics themselves, I use Adobe Illustrator.

Download a Free Trial of Snagit. When working on a document in a program like Microsoft Word or Google Docs, it’s tempting to drag the corners of an image to make it larger or smaller.
