Course Standards: Where R We Heading?

At one time, you could be “certified” with AICC and yes certified with SCORM, but why would you want to be? I’ve never heard someone say, “Sheesh, I need an LMS that is SCORM certified, or what your authoring tool is not AICC certified? I still see course libraries that are only AICC. Here is my take.

Kinect technology was not created at a Microsoft lab, rather it was created by a group of folks in Cambridge, England. no SCORM, AICC or PENS – however, I am now seeing a few vendors offer PENS (created by AICC back in 2005, but slowly gaining traction). Yet this is no longer the case. Peer review.

Microsoft Word converted to Flash? PENS was created in 2005 by AICC as a new interoperability standard. Same issue if your product outputs to only AICC, and my LMS vendor does not accept the AICC interoperability standard. Is it PowerPoint converted to Flash? Templates with some learning objects?
