Last week, I attended DevLearn. Simply put, one vendor has over 200 Flash-based templates in their product. Not only was it quite present at DevLearn, but in general, this is one of the new “hot” items in the space. Microsoft has announced that their next browser version will support only HTML5 and not Flash.

It comes with a “LMS” which is some analytics – similar to what is happening in the space (have to attend DevLearn to find out what that means. Can convert Flash to HTML5. Quite simply – it is easy to use and fast to create a course. yuck, yuck). . Constantly updates – not often seen in desktop solutions.

Granted the others accept Flash, but when the folks who make Flash say they are moving over to HTML5, you don’t need a witch doctor to tell you to watch out for that Zombie next to you. No one says to me, “oh can it output to flash?” On the former note, every tablet in the market accepts HTML5. Bottom Line.

Feature sets – they have to be more than PPT to Flash or add an audio clip and video clip to the course. SaaS based solution, that offers contractors/developers who create courses for other folks – access to the Flash files. Innovation – if the product doesn’t offer some innovative features, then they are stale.
