We actually started with the training that we provide to their direct reports, second level managers, and built the Director curriculum from that training. Aligning all of your training programs for all levels is important.

The director suggested that perhaps that guy is the true visionary; he's not creating anything extraordinary, but rather simply addressing the basic business need as efficiently as possible. We live in a "I need this tomorrow" type of world.

Put on your Directors Hat. Find your inner director and take command instructing the actor to repeat scenes as necessary and verify the actor sticks to the script and learning objectives. When you're done importing, it's time to switch from director and find your inner editor. Next, find a good (quiet) place to shoot.
