In the webinar, I brought up how LMS vendors were themselves perpetuating the myth of the bad things of social media (which is a necessary component of social learning), so, rather than identify the facts and data to potential clients who are concerned about social media and thus social learning, they instead do not include it in their system.

Big Dog (Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, Cornerstone OnDemand, Learn.com). Extended Enterprise – System must have e-comm, multi-tenet – fully skinnable, additional functionality. That said, across the board for all Big Dog systems, their social learning functionality was weak. Social Learning is limited.

Vendors are hearing us and are making changes. More multilingual options to their web sites, trials and social learning. Learning Tree Anywhere. Checking out and reporting on Meridian Knowledge, Beeline Orchestra, RISC, Learn.com. But, they still have a way to go. A few are truly innovating.

The freebie does not offer SCORM nor monitoring, but has social learning, assessment tool inc. Learn.com is now called Taleo. They have a freebie version which has an appropriate number of feature sets, then they have paid versions for individual and organization. Corporate Side. Plateau is now called SuccessFactors.
