The initial person who thought buying SumTotal was a great idea (initially it was) and then dumped it for a fortune to Skillsoft (another great idea), which in turn was someone at Skillsoft thinking this was a great idea, which turned out to be false and was a factor in Skillsoft going into bankruptcy due to the albatross known as SumTotal.

CBT (Computer-Based Training). ILT (Instructor Led Training – Workplace, even EdTech – K-12 and Higher Education). WBT (Web-Based Training). Why have a system to house courses, when ILT was the main way of learning and training? Many folks running training and L&D, also saw the Five straight down the page.

Heck, even before we had online learning, and courses were CBT (Computer Based Training), you could find 3rd party course providers. . Some may be free (TED) or some MOOCs, others are fee-based (Skillsoft, Skill Pill, Harvard Business, etc.). . Skillsoft too. 3rd party content providers are not new. Who remembers NetG?

I identify the Big Dogs as SumTotal by Skillsoft (yes, that is the actual name), Cornerstone OnDemand, Saba, SucessFactors and Oracle Taleo (although, I ask myself who is using this and if you still are why?). SumTotal by Skillsoft – the 2016 re-haul is a huge plus. SumTotal by Skillsoft. SkillsServe by Unicorn Training.

17 2007 - when their satisfaction score is being reported so low. Moodle scores very high in satisfaction, but we need to qualify that result a bit. But it's not really an enterprise LMS and has some very serious deficiencies when it comes to many of the needs of corporate training departements. LearnCenter Learn.com 5 7.18
