Skillsoft buying SumTotal – My Take

The reason for the acquisition at least from a press release and information on the purchase (and available for viewing on the Skillsoft site), screams of HCM (Human Capital Management). Yet for some reason, Skillsoft sees HR and Learning interconnected, which to me, makes virtually no sense. If you currently oversee Training do you?

They actually have two learning management systems, but for whatever reason, they are pitching their SharePoint version. This is a tough one, because honestly there are a lot of average learning systems at HR Tech. Oh, strategic learning, extended enterprise and compliance are all included in their LMS.
