Since my Top 10 list of LMS vendors has been posted online, I have received quite a bit of e-mail wondering why the biggest names: Cornerstone On Demand, Saba, SumTotal and SuccessFactors are not on the list. There is a wide assumption that if a product sells a lot it means that it is better than anyone else. Think about it.

I admit have the time when I look at a few from the larger name entities, I can’t figure out how that vendor got to that part of that grid, what in the heck does that mean, and why is that vendor who isn’t even a learning system, appearing in that section of the grid over there? I’m not sure why people love grids.

There is something about gaining insight and knowledge around various products or offerings when you either have limited or zero-knowledge around these items, but you want to purchase one at some point. Enterprise means whatever the vendor wants it to mean in employee (end-users) numbers. I love buyer’s guides.

A vendor won’t say “no, you can’t”), Combo still plays high here, and there are a couple that are customer education driven – focus. One vendor is changing their focus in 2023 – you get to learn about here first! The majority of vendors in the industry slide into the $$ to $$$ area.
