As educators, we can’t ignore the digitally connected culture or reality of these soon-to-enter-the-workforce youngsters. We are obligated to examine their culture and to integrate parts of that culture into our educational approach. ELEARNING ACUPUNCTURE | THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2010 5(+1) Biggest Mistakes in Online Education Guillermo Ramirez from Politecnico Grancolombiano in Bogota Columbia has shared a provocative presentation on SlideShare that attempts to bring us back to the basics of what education is and what education is not. There are many people who are starting to pick up on the idea of badges for education, and there are many perspectives grounded in their experiences. This is the overall challenge for public education when looking at Boy Scouts (caveat: I don’t know much about the Girl Scouts program so I don’t go into it here) as a model. love the idea of merit badges in education, but only if we’re going to bring with them the framework by which they are effective.
