Wednesday, May 06, 2009 Describing What You Do: Instructional Design Youre at a playground and you start talking to the mom sitting on the bench next to you. Me: Im an instructional designer. Im sort of distracted by the naked boy who just ran by (not mine). And then they think Im a flippin genius!!!! What do you say?

Karl sites statistics that "Seventy percent of the players of the social interaction game The Sims are women under twenty-five," and that the number one game from May 2004-July 2006 was Princess Fashion Boutique. But very few of them were/are active game players and, as a rule, did not consider themselves gamers.

Tuesday, March 25, 2008 Jott This Blog I havent had so much time lately to blog, as this project Im working on has been quite grueling. I find my best time for thinking up excellent blog entries is late at night when Im lying in bed. That is, of course, if Im even awake after the kids have finally fallen asleep.

Im literally not a gamer. Im not sure how I got into games.but I think it had something to do with PONG. But Im so lost at sea for the most part in these environments. But Im no gamer. I dont do the online social games, so Im not a Gamer 4.0, but Im definitely a gamer. 12:21 PM Clive Shepherd said.

Thursday, February 08, 2007 Back to bloggin Im gonna try this again. And so now I feel compelled to enter the conversation, although Im not sure yet if I have anything to add. My exposure to the e-Learning blogosphere points to a pretty small world -- the key players seem to have a private conversation going on. Im gonna try it.

That said, Im a little concerned that the gamer mentality is sometimes presented as important to corporate culture and that as a result women should get into gaming. Im a bit of an über a-hole when it comes to stereotypical representations - the giggly "girl" (which is the name of this episode) just lights my match. Which is correct?
