As I mentioned last week, if you are using the licensed version of Captivate, you can set an expiration date for a project by choosing  File > Publish Settings. Just prior to posting the projects on my web server for people to download, I opened each projects with the fully licensed version of the software, saved and then closed.

So, what you saved in licensing costs was spent paying developers to configure the system and LMS administrators to administer. Just as I was lured by the low purchase price of my house, these organizations are attracted to the fact that they can download the software for free and install it on a low-cost Web server.

Up to and including presently I have always purchased a perpetual license for Adobe Captivate. I took advantage of some really good pricing on Office 2013 a few years ago and I haven’t felt the need to upgrade to Office 2016. Speaking of which, ability to capture web cam or real time recordings in some fashion and add that piece into a course is equally small. . I see the pluses of it, yet there are minuses.
