Fast forward to the early 2000s, and a US government-sponsored group, the ADL Initiative, took the best of AICC, added some much-needed changes, and SCORM 1.0 SCORM, like any product, has had various releases or iterations. xAPI originated around 2013 from a working group sponsored by ADL and led by Rustici.

Can either one be integrated into our product? This could be because you’re building a platform that helps with in-person observation and you need more of a checklist than a content player, your custom-built system has very specific tracking needs or you need the LRS to be self-hosted on your own servers or cloud storage.

A couple of days ago, I wrote about the state of ADL and Rustici Software’s take on it. This is the essence of a products company. We wrapped a little bit of code and interface around our core product (SCORM Engine), labeled it SCORM Test Track, and shared it. ADL’s guiding hand. Number one might be pretty obvious to you.

A course is SCORM compliant when it meets the requirements of the standard set by the ADL. It will be in our product somewhere in 2015. Easygenerator for example is an e-Learning authoring tool, but it offers also the possibility to publish the courses to one of its servers and to track and trace the results from your learners.
