Fosway Group’s 9-Grid for Learning Systems. Claiming a spot on one of his annual Best of Lists is a coveted thing for learning tech providers.

It is the same way with learning systems, and yes, e-learning. The LMS market still has the largest share in the learning system space, many are in the last five years, they range from innovative to just eech. I never put innovation and SumTotal in the same sentence. SumTotal was never innovative.

That said, there were some curious items on this list, which to me, doesn’t really fly in the world of learning tools. Even when it is in an LMS or other types of learning systems. Say what you will about Cornerstone and SumTotal, but neither are on this list. . E-Learning 24/7. Qzone – 970M users.

That is to say, as a whole the e-learning industry, especially authoring tools and LMS/Learning systems are often two steps back, when everyone else or at least the masses are one step forward. If you are an early adopter as a consumer, you are about 10 steps forward. but in the e-learning world.
