I thought about this, as you can tell, and said to myself, okay, let’s write a post where the e-learning history and thus learning systems, authoring tools, and alike are intertwined with good and bad ideas. Instead, it was someone from Macromedia Dreamweaver, which is software for building websites.

For those of us who were there the first time around, we saw quite a bit with e-learning and the world for online corporate learning. Who knew this was not a good business plan? E-Learning developers – again, common term. You added “objects” ADDIE (developed for everything but e-learning) was tapped.

I learned my first ID model: instruct, demo, practice, assess. We flirted with creating early knowledge management systems and went out of business the next year. We had moved away from proprietary and were now using Macromedia Director. We also created our own proprietary Learning Portal.

She is well on her way to a lifetime journey of learning, limited only by having enough time to obtain all the information and skills she desires. So the only problem I had would be math, a subject hard to learn without guidance and initially we thought there would be no way to send me worksheets in a quick manner. Is she a savant?

The longer your company has been in business, the more you’ve been creating training material, which has resulted in large libraries of content in various forms. Since the advent of e-learning, Macromedia products were popular, and enormous quantities of content were generated using platforms like Director and Flash.
