By using personal devices as ‘mindtools’ to offload simple cognitive tasks, students can extend their own memories (Jonassen et al, 1999), build their confidence, and increase their motivation levels (Goldsworthy et al , 2006).

A digital heretic?

PLE will triumph over VLE. Call me a digital heretic if you like, but I'm certainly not the only one. I strongly support user generated content as an effective means of supporting learning. Who's to say that txt language is inferior to standard English? And let's allow children to use mobile phones in schools.
