Wikipedia: At one point, I contributed quite a bit (2500+ edits), but it’s been over a year since I’ve been active. Wikipedia, for example, can be pretty intense and nasty. Most of the time I don’t even read the user discussions, and I never add my own comments. I learn on all those sites.

When key learning environment attributes are considered, the end product of our design efforts – Performer Support – can take many forms. Can you say “Wikipedia”? Monitoring social networks can be a monumental task.

Wiki- looks nothing like Wikipedia. Others offer a pseudo app share offering – where people can upload documents, pdfs, PowerPoints and other group members can download them or view them or both – it is basically a COP (community of practice) wrapped as social learning. It is that amazing. 2004 3rd edition.

primarily used the eLearning Learning and Communities and Networks sites and used Conference , Online Facilitation of Conferences , Online Interaction in Conferences , Moderating Online Interaction , and others. I’ve found these dimensions very usefull in consulting about communities, exploring its value for the organization.

Just be aware that it can be very very good, like Wikipedia. •
