GeoLearning’s GeoMaestro is a LMS that packs a wallop but at the same time has some features that provide limitations. What is really nice about GeoMaestro is that GeoLearning has thought long and hard about this issue and has solved it. GeoLearning offers the creation feature for you, for an additional cost.

Instructional design was actually being used. Formal and Informal – That’s right, it wasn’t all formal, nor was it designed to be. Because of the way the courses were designed. But because the approach of the course design, the ability to see exactly where the learner was going, was there.

They had it early on, and it continues to improve – i.e. the entire system that is, not just the LXP, which is there, does a good job, but the system is designed to go way beyond that. The best Learning Platform with a legit LXP in it is probably Juno Journey. The second who does a solid job and is within an LMS, is Bealink.

This version ($40/u/m) is geared towards the instructional designer/developer. The interface you showed was similar in many ways to the old GeoLearning 3D look back in 2002 (which Geo eventually dumped – too bad). The product comes in two flavors – a simple and a more robust. I focused on the more robust.

On the Maestro side (formally GeoLearning), I don’t understand how they could have dropped the ball on the platform. There are a lot of e-learning developers and instructional designers who either used Authorware or want an authoring tool that meets their needs – and which does not exist in today’s market.
