Speaking of the guru awards, I was looking at the source files for the CPR demo and was impressed to see that it only contained twenty PowerPoint slides. For the most part it’s all PowerPoint. The first slide is a Flash animation and the CPR simulation was created in Quizmaker ‘09. But that’s not the case.

Storyline is a desktop authoring tool which Articulate would probably position alongside their current Studio suite of Presenter, QuizMaker and Engage, but for me this is definitely a replacement. But for me the PowerPoint add-in approach to authoring is an uncomfortable compromise. That's a shame.
