I wouldn’t call it pondering rather I would call it a huge misnomer in the entire authoring tool industry, course development industry – with vendors here – when it comes to course standards. I’ve even seen it with LMS vendors. There are LMS vendors who no longer accept AICC. Vendor buy-in.

Bewildered on what is happening, why what is needed isn’t appearing as it should, and how is it possible that something so obvious based on where e-learning is heading, mobile is pushing and future tech is inspiring is lost among so many vendors? And therein lies one of the issues, that is showing up with many, many vendors.

This is a growing market with new vendors showing up, but at the same time, others disappearing. Microsoft Word converted to Flash? Sure there are over 100 vendors in this industry and probably 95% you have never heard of and whom have great products that can meet or beat the big players. 43 Vendors do not have one.
