Adobe’s CS4 suite is the second major release since Adobe acquired Macromedia. Flash Player 10 is becoming very popular and in December 2008 , was already installed in more than 50% of the computers surveyed worldwide. The new Adobe CS4 suite has some new exciting and time-saving features in all its products.

A product called Macromedia Flash (being used with web sites) became a go to for course development. Macromedia Dreamweaver came out with templates. The Depression of 2008-2012. The idea of a rapid content authoring tool, whereas anyone could build a course quickly was appalling to everyone who built courses. I used DazzlerMax.

In 2005, Adobe bought Macromedia and transformed it into Adobe Flash. 2008: The Beginning of the Mobile Web. From the read-only environment of Web 1.0, promises a two-way conversation where users can contribute, collaborate and create through several platforms like social media, blogs, wikis and forums. 2005: The Rise of Flash Video.

Articulate Presenter was around well before eHelp (one of the leading companies) was purchased by Macromedia that was purchased by Adobe. So while all of this happened in the early 2000’s, rapid elearning and PowerPoint-based authoring didn’t really start to take off until around 2008 or so. Today things are different.

Adobe CS and CS2 was about the time Adobe acquired Macromedia and Flash didn’t get its next version upgrade until CS3. Open Flash and create a new Flash document/file. I recently upgraded from Flash 8 to Flash CS4 which is a difference in 3 versions. Here are two images on the differences of opening a new Flash document.
