This year we will focus on the top ten authoring tools for 2013. Was in the top 10 for 2012 and stays in for 2013. While they do offer a free version – which is quite nice, the fee based version (which isn’t that pricey) offers a stronger set of features. Text to Speech – awesome!

The new iSpring Pro 7 – currently in beta adds additional powerhouse features, including PPT to HTML5 output (which right now is a standalone product). #8 Offers three versions. #7 and SCORM/AICC.

Text to speech – Very nice – everyone should offer this feature. HTML5 output including a PPT converter to HTML5. They offer two versions, but this is in reference to the paid version. The free version is very nice, but this is all about the paid version. Audio recording and editing.

PowerPoint – Ability to integrate or use PPT in your courses. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. The Kindle Fire, Barnes and Noble’s version are still heavy e-book driven. ADA 508 compliant or the European version of ADA 508. It isn’t.
