Rustici Engine has supported xAPI (the Experience API) since 2011 when we created the initial version for ADL. The last big overhaul we made to xAPI data storage in Engine was in 2015. We always expected the volume and type of data to cause scalability issues. We need to be able to lookup by related agent + stored.

in April 2015. Like SCORM, the specification is an API and defines a communications protocol for tracking learning-related activity. Pitched as the “true next generation of SCORM”, ADL have taken over the cmi5 specification (which suggests it will evolve!). The above list is not exhaustive.

A course is SCORM compliant when it meets the requirements of the standard set by the ADL. XAPI reports through statements that have a specific structure: I (actor) did (verb) this (activity). It will be in our product somewhere in 2015. SCORM compliant. It allows the learner to record this learning experience and the result.

Questions: What is the common identifier that allows the xAPI to connect the data provided by the ‘activity provider’ to a specific user in the LRS? Does the learner have to actively click a bookmarklet or is it automated in the background?
