This Instruction replaces the 2006 version of DoDI 1322.26, “Development, Management, and Delivery of Distributed Learning,” which mandated (as opposed to advised) the use of SCORM in all eLearning technology used by the DoD. In 2015, we at Rustici were awarded a BAA from ADL to help them revise the 2006 DoDI 1322.26.

Rustici Engine has supported xAPI (the Experience API) since 2011 when we created the initial version for ADL. The last big overhaul we made to xAPI data storage in Engine was in 2015. We always expected the volume and type of data to cause scalability issues.

A course is SCORM compliant when it meets the requirements of the standard set by the ADL. Yes there are two version of SCORM: SCORM 1.2 The latest version is SCORM 2004 but both are still in use. In fact the oldest version (SCORM 1.2) The latest version of SCORM dates back from 2004 (although there where updates).
