That’s also evident from the fact that the AICC specification hasn’t been updated in over ten years.

It stands for Learning Tools Interoperability and it is a standard created by the IMS Global Learning Consortium. It specifies the communication method between eLearning platforms and content; if both support SCORM, everyone will play nicely together. Governance: LTI is created and maintained by IMS; SCORM by ADL.

AICC goes after the same thing as what I've described above for SCORM (tracking under an LMS). There are a bunch of other standards by ADL (who is responsible for SCORM ), IMS , IEEE LTSC including CORDRAâ„¢ , LOM , Meta-data , etc. Note: ARIADNE, AICC, IEEE LTSC, and IMS all participate in ADL's work on SCORM).
