Think of today, and Articulate Storyline fan base. There were other offerings, such as Adobe Presenter, but Studio was the preferred tool for corporate – internally speaking (not out sourced). It had a steep learning curve (admitted by Articulate to me). I remember talking to Articulate soon thereafter at a trade show.

15 Articulate Studio 09 - Until I see what 2013 can do (and it is about to be in beta), Studio sits at number 15. Despite what Articulate might say the most used products within Studio are Presenter and Quizmaker. Outputs include HTML5, MP4, Microsoft Silverlight, Adobe Air. 12 Adobe Captivate. Oh, right, never mind.

I recall a conversation I had last year with some folks from Articulate who informed me that PowerPoint is an authoring tool. Yes, you can use it for many different things, and yes, Microsoft has an add-on that turns PPT into something similar to Adobe Presenter. Lastly, why is Articulate and Adobe still on the desktop?

5 Adobe Captivate. I cited my previous argument that they had Premiere, Photoshop from the early to mid 90′s and Audition – another product and never added any of items or components from these products into Captivate to give it more punch. 2 Articulate Storyline. I’d rather you gave me a rock to use later on.

Adobe Photoshop Express – in the cloud and very popular. Most people assume that Articulate, Lectora and Captivate are the best tools out there, that is no longer the case. Google Docs – ever heard of em? Microsoft Live – same thing. The list goes on and on. Enough said. Bottom Line.
