Corporate wasn’t really there at the time, some places did it, but it was edtech, the launched the WBT scene, removing the distance learning debacle (which was the key player, think tv to tv or monitor, with people looking at other people, or the instructor, and yes it was very popular even into the 2000s). So, no 640 there.

In this LMScast episode, Andy Whitaker explore the landscape of eLearning standards, focusing on SCORM, AICC, and XAPI for WordPress LMS. They had some history in working with the SCORM standard in the very early days actually building a player for the software company that they used to work for. AICC is actually a precursor to scorm.

Sure there are over 100 vendors in this industry and probably 95% you have never heard of and whom have great products that can meet or beat the big players. PENS was created in 2005 by AICC as a new interoperability standard. Ease of use is a better thing and innovation is an awesome thing. Name Recognition. Otherwise, L8R!

Course standards (AICC, SCORM, SCORM 1.2, And another trend you will see in the system, which I am equally seeing in the learning system space as a whole, the elimination of AICC by vendors. First, I am overjoyed by this – as I have felt AICC has gone past its shelf life and should be put out to pasture. Baffling.
