danah boyd opened ASTD TechKnowledge 2013 with a keynote on teenagers, networks, and work in the 21st century. Social networks have become the fabric of the high tech industry. Learning is experiential. You learn from your peers and from doing things. They gain privacy by controlling the social situation.
