Elearning development tools: only Adobe? Over the last ten years or so, major elearning developers have preferred to use tools like Flash, Authorware and Director from Adobe (earlier Macromedia). One of the other major advantages of Flash is that is supports close designer-developer collaboration.

Macromedia Authorware and similar products. Macromedia Director. While some could argue that Authorware was a RCAT, I disagree. The Macromedia set typically would toss in Director, which created an equally impressive array of course capabilities, but a deep learning curve. HTML and Javascript. That was pretty much it.
