Over the past two months I've been working extensively with the open source virtual learning environment (VLE) Moodle. My question is, what am I not getting that I would with Blackboard, WebCT, FirstClass and other VLEs? To support a predominantly online course in the usual way.

Now I don't normally get very excited about LMSs but these awards attracted my attention, because in amongst the Sabas and the SumTotals was little ol' open-source Moodle: Award for market share - Small and Medium Corporate Learning Management Systems - Platinum award: Moodle.
