You want a system that has e-commerce that accepts PayPal, can generate invoices and track sales - pickings are limited – specifically because of the “generate invoices” and “track sales” You desire a system that offers PENS - Choices are dropping like flies after you whack them with your fly swatter or newspaper.

Look at a minimum of 5-6 vendors and not just the well-known ones like Articulate or Captivate – they are good products, depending on what you want, but there are 108 content authoring tool vendors (that I track), plus many more open source ones (see my latest Content Authoring Tool Directory. Right now, you have to upload the course as you would with your SCORM wrapper, where you self-upload or use the course within an online mobile platform from your authoring tool vendor. Just as you can with PENS authoring tools and the systems that support PENS (i.e Audit trails with significant more tracking a must.

What about PENS or some other compliance standard? Unless you must have PENS or one of the other compliance standards, it is not needed. PENS was created by AICC as an alternative to SCORM 2004, 3rd edition. . If you plan to track or have instructor led training, then this is relevant. Can you track the end users in it?

Qualcomm acquired GestureTek, which uses ultrasound sensors to track movement via a microphone, rather than a camera. GestureTek develops motion control for tablets, e-readers, smartphones and televisions. Expect a few commercial vendors to jump into the augmented reality space for e-learning. Peer review.

In just the past month, I have seen quite a few vendors add this capability in their product – and for the most part they are all RCAT products. The numbers clearly indicate that is on the fast track for real growth in the coming year. . One vendor has a gaming raceway for quizzes. that sounds swell” rankings.

AICC, SCORM and PENS support. My personal favorite feature is the timeline with individual tracks for audio, images and text. Not with Publisher. Features include: Community dashboards and developer blogs. Layers & objects. Task management. Social tags, RSS, gaming activities. Collaboration. PowerPoint can be uploaded.
