The product are an extensive set of stock photos with real human being images and not the cheesy clip art, one often sees in such tools. Other vendors are exploring the addition of avatars that can communicate with one another. For some people WBT is merely sticking a PPT online converting it to Flash and whalla – a new course.

PowerPoint – Ability to integrate or use PPT in your courses. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. eLearning Brothers offers such a product – and RCAT vendors are starting to add it into their own product. It isn’t. Makes sense.

The downside to training management products is the inability to upload any other 3rd party authoring tool or courses from an off the shelf vendor. Yeah, you can upload word docs, PPT, etc. And yes, there are plenty who believe that text and some stock photos are still in – uh, they’re not. RFPs remind me of VCRs.
