If the learner has to expend energy deciphering the pertinent information from the extra add-ons, they are more likely to not retain the information presented in the program. Which would explain why many learners are unable to retain much information from a text-only presentation that is 20 slides in length.

Using a screen type index to create balanced storyboards

The way I do this is to create what I call a ‘screen type index’ I put this at the start of every storyboard I write to give me that at-a-glance big picture information. However, it’s also important to keep an eye on the big picture and how each individual screen fits into the context of the course. Bookmark the permalink.
