While the solution delivers more than enough for a LMS and the company gets “it for where the industry needs to go, GeoLearning has made some interesting decisions with GeoMaestro that to say the least is bewildering. GeoLearning Acquired by SumTotal: The mLearning Impact?

The enterprise learning market witnessed another big consolidation event today as SumTotal Systems announced it acquired GeoLearning thus further positioning SumTotal as the largest platform provider for LMS and talent management solutions in the industry. According to leading analyst Josh Bersin , the combined entity will grow SumTotal's "total market share to 12.5%. Interesting news indeed.

For example, I see GeoLearning relates to Learning Portals , Community of Practice, Mentoring , IntraLearn , Learnframe , ViewCentral , GeoMaestro , WBT Manager , WBT Systems , KnowledgeNet , Generation 21 , and GeoConnect. The recent addition of related terms (relationship factors) in eLearning Learning that show what how related terms are to a given result set provides some interesting insights. Some of these are no surprise, but others such as Yugma made me notice that version 4 is out, hence people are talking about it more than usual.

April's Big Question from Learning Circuits is "How to Keep up?" This is in reference the immense and rapidly expanding technology tools. It is tough to stay on top of all the emerging tools. However, being involved in an e-learning community is a big help. For me it is a blog community and following many experts on Twitter. Not only am I often made aware of new tools, but also get opinions, tips, and examples of their use. You can never keep up with it all, but access to many experts who are also finding and sharing the lastest tech tools make it much less daunting.
