ADL, IEEE and many people and businesses talking about this technology call it xAPI. Right now, “Tin Can” refers to xAPI. IEEE also specifies USB and WiFi and a host of other standards we take for granted but help ensure things “just work” as expected. For example, Facebook’s News Feed is an activity stream.
