Lots of systems in the market and plenty that do not focus on that. Because here is the thing – the client and specifically their administrator decides if they want to use those features or whatever features are in the system. The client who bought the system decides if they want to have their managers do this or not.

The ones who may not are those who identify themselves as “Training mgt systems and alike” – because they are really focused on the course authoring tool and are not a LMS in the true sense of the word. Streaming video – low number of systems. If I am based in Europe – does your system in VAT?

One such vendor is Rapid Intake. Case in point: Claro Online Authoring System. But in order to utilize Flash, you have to go to the settings in the browser and turn on something called Flash streaming. Not only was it quite present at DevLearn, but in general, this is one of the new “hot” items in the space.

It has become an add-on fee for many vendors, and even worse, many of whom have an “extended enterprise&# or multi-tenet system (or advertise that option). The spin of course, is that open source systems enable APIs. Why the extra fee for a vendor to integrate it into their system. Oh, you want windows in that?

An alarming rate of “get the content up now, ASAP&# regardless of what it looks like, instructional design is typically tossed out the window, especially when the ID, CD or whomever is tasked to create is handed a stream of documents in Word or PPT or some other form.
